    Develop book-specific websites to support publicity and sales

  • Pitch:
    Proactive at suggesting seasonal or topical story ideas to media and suggest books to coincide with editorial calendars/agendas

  • Media Relations:
    Adept at working with authors and media outlets to arrange interviews, excerpts, and feature stories

  • Network:
    Attend and network with media, clergy, professors and booksellers at academic and trade events such as the American Academy of Religion/Society of Biblical Literature conference, Book Expo America, International Christian Retail Show, Religion Booksellers Trade Event, EXPOLIT, and the Religion Newswriters Association conference

  • Events:
    Recent major events include authors on C-SPAN, book launches at the National Press Club, national and local media interviews, and book events at the Church Center for the UN, the Interchurch Center, and the Malcolm X Center in New York City

  • Reviews:
    Secure major book reviews in USA Today, National Catholic Reporter, Choice, Presbyterians Today, The Lutheran, Publisher’s Weekly, Catholic Biblical Quarterly, Interpretation, Christian Century, Sojourners, and many additional print media

  • Report:
    Set up effective systems for cataloging reviews received and reporting publicity efforts to authors and publishers

  • Design:
    Design and populate electronically based publicity systems specifically keyed to specific book publishing programs and readership
